The following command excerpts show the details and performance statistics for
the official ATI driver versioned 8.12.10 for x86_64.

2D-performance should be accelarated a great deal, as you've probably noticed - running a simple performance
test for 2D-performance can be done by running "glxgears". This should produce something along the following
output:
chryz@ubuntu:~ $ glxgears
13537 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2707.400 FPS
13650 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2730.000 FPS
13649 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2729.800 FPS
13673 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2734.600 FPS
3D-performance can likewise be tested by running "fgl_glxgears", and should produce an output like the following:
chryz@ubuntu:~ $ fgl_glxgears
1852 frames in 5.0 seconds = 370.400 FPS
2661 frames in 5.0 seconds = 532.200 FPS
2662 frames in 5.0 seconds = 532.400 FPS
